Abstract The article presents 3 Cenozoic spumellarian Radiolaria families (Suttoniidae, Patulibracchiidae and Heliodiscidae) that have genera with eccentric microsphere. Ten such genera are discussed, of which four are new (Homunculodiscus, Parasuttonium, Cryptomanicula and Helioferrusa), and 19 species of which eleven are new. These genera evolved independently and in different directions, proving that there are no phylogenetic relationships between these families, and that if some structures are common they are the result of the eccentric position of the microsphere and of its migration during evolution. All species discussed are illustrated in eleven figures with photos at optical or scanning electron microscope.
