In the basic investigation of Da-guei Lake (Dalupalringi Lake ) Wetland in 2018, there were recorded 160 species, 107 genera, and 63 families of vascular plants, among which 50 species were endemic to Taiwan. The vegetation was classified into 4 types by clustering, as I. Tsuga chinensis var. formosana Type, II. Quercus morii Type, III. Neolitsea acuminatissima – Adinandra formosana var. formosana Type, and IV. Rhododendron formosanum Type. As to the fauna, there were recorded 17 species, 16 genera, and 11 families of terrestrial mammals. The feces and tracks of Rusa unicolor swinhoii, Capriccornis swinhoei, and Muntiacus reevesi micrurus were often seen. There were 3 genera, 2 families, and 1 order of Chiroptera, including Pipistrellus spp., Myotis spp., and Tadarida insignis. There were 9 species, 5 families, and 3 orders of amphibians and reptiles. There were Pseudoamolops sauteri, Bufo bankorensis, Rhacophorus moltrechti, and Kurixalus eiffingeri of Anura. There was Hynobius arisanensis of Urodela. And there were Pseudoxenodon stejnegeri, Rhabdophis tigrinus formosanus, andSphenomorphus taiwanensis of Squamata. The Sphenomorphus taiwanensis was a newly recorded species in this area. There were 33 species, 33 genera, and 21 families of birds. The constitution and density of birds were similar to those at the same altitudes in Taiwan. The infrared cameras have worked for 51,199.36 hr., and recorded 13 species, 13 genera, and 9 families of mammals and 6 species, 6 genera, and 6 families of birds. Among those, Rusa unicolor swinhoii had the highest OI(19.34) in the whole area. It showed that Rusa unicolor swinhoii was the most abundant species in Da-guei Lake Wetland. The main lake had massive water body and the velocity was close to 0, so the dissolved oxygen was little, the turbidity was 0, and the conductivity was also low. The content of heavy metals in the sediments in the main lake, east pond, and west pond all complied with the quality index of the Soil and Groundwater Pollution Remediation Act. Moreover, these data were treated as the background level of the sediment in the water body of Da-guei Lake for further management.
