The mycological collection of the University of Tartu (officially Fungarium of the University of Tartu; acronym TUF) holds dried fungi and lichens. The majority of the stored specimens have been collected by the researchers of the University of Tartu in the course of their research projects and expeditions, a smaller part has been donated by foreign and amateur researchers. The fungarium specimens are actively studied both by Estonian and foreign researchers; the material preserved here is used in compiling fungistical, taxonomic and nature conservation studies and reviews.
